Colorful Bamboo Adult Socks

There are two main processes for producing bamboo fiber yarn. The first is the physical-mechanical method (natural bamboo fiber): mature bamboo is split into flakes, mechanically crushed and steamed to remove some of the glue, then degummed and softened with enzymes to make it fluffy. Finally, through carding, drawing, and spinning, the yarn is produced, preserving the bamboo's natural properties. This method is environmentally friendly, but also relatively expensive.

The second, more mainstream, chemical method (bamboo pulp fiber or regenerated cellulose fiber) is the more mainstream method: bamboo flakes are first crushed and dissolved with chemicals such as caustic soda and sulfur dioxide to produce bamboo pulp. The pulp is then dissolved in a solvent to create a viscous spinning solution. Finally, it is forced through spinnerets into a coagulation bath to reform the filaments (similar to the production process of viscose fiber). After further processing, it can be spun into yarn. This method offers high yields and low costs, but some of the chemical reagents may have environmental impacts.
